It has a unique history in itself and is a popular tourist spot for people visiting Istanbul. The palace was constructed around the 1800s on a location where a wooden structure used to exist. Replacing the wooden structure, a magnificent architectural marvel was built consisting of 16 separate buildings. These buildings bring to you the history and culture of Istanbul. The palace has in store many valuable art forms and goods preserved in its premises. Apart from this, the palace also has a flour mill, stable and even a clock tower. 
  • Hagia Sophia Mosque: The Hagia Sophia Mosque is a place that you cannot afford to miss while travelling to Istanbul. Not only does the place hold immense religious significance, it is also an architectural wonder and a must visit destination. The mosque opens at 9 A.M. in the morning and remains open till 5 P.M. in the evening. This place dates back to as early as the 6th century. Even then, the place is a sheer delight for the eyes. The interior of the mosque is built of more than 30 million gold tiles which emit such vibrant shine all over. Its exterior too has a unique flat dome shape and it is certainly a must visit place. 
  • Sultanahmet District: This place can be termed as the heart of Istanbul city. This is because it brings to you the old or traditional Istanbul, its inherent culture and traditions. For people who love to shop and eat, Sultanahmet is a must visit place. The place has in store a wide variety of cuisine for all the food lovers including authentic Turkish food. Also, it is a shoppers’ paradise with multiple brands and local shops being situated in the district. The place is also home to other popular destinations like the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. 
  • Bosphorus Strait: The Bosphorus Strait is one of the most beautiful places in Istanbul. With dwellings on both sides of a running water body, the place offers a perfect view of the Istanbul city. It even offers boating facilities which allows you to take a tour of the city. The boat ride is economical and refreshing and lasts for around 1-2 hours. It is a must do activity for tourists for it offers a rejuvenating experience.
