The human body is an amalgamation of different, complex systems such as the digestive, skeletal, circulatory, and respiratory systems. All these systems are interlinked with each other, meaning each of the systems has an impact on the other system. This is why taking care of every part of the human body is very important; if one part of the human body is somehow damaged, it might have an adverse effect on the other parts of the body.
Just like looking after internal and external health is important, it is equally as important to take care of oral health. While people often focus on physical health, dental health often goes unnoticed. But as stated above, bad oral health often leads to bigger health issues. Dental issues often present themselves with very minor symptoms such as a toothache, or a bleeding gum. When this little symptom is ignored, it turns into major issues, which then asks for immediate attention from the dentist, such as root canals, tooth implants, and a lot more. Since one system impacts the other, poor oral health often leads to a set of problems with diabetes, heart disease, and so on. So, for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it is crucial that individuals actively address their physical, mental, and oral health,
Sometimes, people tend to ignore their dental health because of the fear of dentists or the clinic, while other times, the reason behind not visiting the dentist is the costly visits. It is an undeniable fact that regardless of your location across the globe, dental care is quite expensive. The costs for dental implants and surgeries are often quite high, and companies often do not offer coverage for it. Desptie these struggles, a clinic based in Phoenix, Arizona is set to spread smiles across the globe by making care accessible for everyone- Risas Dental and Braces. The clinic was founded by an exceptional dentist, Dr. Nicolas Porter, in 2011. Today, Risas Dental and Braces has 25 clinics spread across Arizona, Nevada, and Texas and offers high-quality services to its patients in every clinic.
RISAS DENTAL AND BRACES- LABOR OF LOVE!
Dr. Nicolas or, as people like to call him, Dr. Nico, is not just an exceptional doctor, he realizes that it is actually quite difficult for people to pay for their dental care. This is why he believes that his clinic, Risas Dental and Braces, is not just a clinic but a platform for spreading smiles and making dental care more accessible for people. Every year on Labor Day, Risas Dental and Braces hosts a special event, which goes by the name “Labor of Love.” The day is dedicated to everyone, especially those who cannot afford dental care and yearly checkups. Experts suggest visiting the dentist at least once a year, and Risas Dental and Braces opens its doors for everyone on the Labor of Love, offering free services for people in its clinics across several states. The primary purpose of the day is to eliminate the need for those struggling financially to pay for dental care from their own pockets.
The Labor of Love Day tradition started when the clinic was founded in 2011. The first office came under operation on September 3, 2011, the Saturday before Labor Day. Since thne, every year on Labor Day, Risas Dental and Braces welcomes customers starting from 8:00 a.m. all the way till noon. Four services are offered free of cost to the first hundred patients at the clinic.
Dr. Whiteny Wright, a founding orthodontist at Risas Dental and Braces, said, “Phoenix was our first home, and we love serving patients and partnering with the community year-round. “Labor Day is a great excuse to open our doors even wider to address the needs of this community and work to offset costs for their oral health care needs.”
In 2018, Risas Dental and Braces provided free dental care to 2200 patients across all its clinics. The company was also able to give away half-a-million dollars in free services. Risas Dental and Braces has been able to give more than five million dollars in free services from the day it was set up through present day.
Living in an era where poverty is one of many global issues, many people are often deprived of essential services. Among these neglected essential services is dental health. Risas Dental and Braces is always available for patients and is making visible efforts to help people in maintaining good dental health. This philanthropic clinic aims at spreading smiles and happiness across all people in the community.
While providing top-notch quality services for patients, Risas Dental and Braces also aims to provide these services at rates that are affordable and convenient for the customers. Dr. Nico stated, “Most people say you either give great prices or great service, we say no, we’re gonna do both. We’re gonna give great service and great prices. The public loves it.”
In 2014, Risas Dental and Braces was recognized for its efforts in the community, and the Phoenix Business Journal awarded the ‘Health Care Hero’ award to Dr. Nico. He was also named a most admired leader in 2015.
