  • The Communicators – Two people or more are involved in a communication process. Being a communicator is taking part in a complex, two-way method in which individuals are sending and receiving ideas to and from each other. An interactive process is vital for communication.

  • The Message – The message refers to the words being spoken by the individuals once they are trying to communicate. The message also involves the expression on your face, gestures made by your body, posture, and body language.

  • Noise – Inconsistencies and distortions that happen during communication are considered as noise. An example of this is complicated jargon, body language that is inappropriate, disinterested, and differences in culture.

  • Context – Looking at the context refers to taking a look at where the communication happens. To name a few, this can be a place like a classroom, outdoors, or even an office. Social context, like responsibilities and the relationship of the people involved, should also be considered.

  • Feedback – Feedback involves the messages the receiver gives back to the one talking. This may include words, facial expressions, or a change in body posture.

What are the Types of Interpersonal Communication?

While there are many ways to improve interpersonal communication, it also consists of various types.

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence implies empathizing with other human beings. To have emotional intelligence is to recognize other people’s boundaries and to identify what they feel even if they have not verbalized it yet. Emotional intelligence is also educating yourself to manage one’s emotions in a lot of situations.

Listening Ability

In this life, you give, and you take. If you want to be heard, you should also be willing to listen. Having exceptional listening abilities implies being exemplary at identifying the meaning of what someone says, along with the emotional undertones of the words that come out of their mouth.

Non-verbal Communication

This involves your posture, how high or low you talk, and the gestures you use, this all tells a story or send a message to your listener. This is an example of non-verbal communication.

Verbal Communication

Verbal Communication involves language with the message you are trying to let the other party come across. This includes telling your story with actual words coming out of your mouth.

Whether we like it or not, many of us encounter human communication now and then. In conclusion, knowing how to communicate effectively is a vital life skill and process.
