Manchester United bid £25m for Alexis Sanchez in attempt to steal Arsenal striker from Manchester City Manchester City are reportedly weighing up whether to make a £25 million bid for Alexis Sanchez in January. According to MailOnline’s Simon Jones and Glen Williams, the club will reach a decision in the coming days and could be willing to increase their offer by up to £10 million if their initial bid is unsuccessful. Sanchez is said to be the Sky Blues’ No. United boss Mourinho, who said he was unlikely to buy anyone in January, recently bemoaned his club’s inability to invest up to “£700 million” in new players, claiming Premier League leaders City have the advantage of unlimited spending power. Beating Pep Guardiola to Sanchez’s capture would therefore represent a major coup for the Old Trafford side and for Mourinho.
The reports further claim that Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been offered as a makeweight in any deal with Arsenal. Sánchez has already agreed personal terms worth around £250,000 a week with Pep Guardiola’s side, with City having submitted a £20m offer for the 29‑year‑old this week. Arsenal have yet to respond to that but it is understood United have since entered the race with a bid in the region of £25m.Our @EmiratesFACup defence begins today

Sky in Italy are reporting that United are willing to consider involving the Armenia international midfielder in a swap deal for Sanchez, whose representatives have been contacted by those of United, however a major stumbling box is the Armenian’s wages, a reported £200,000 a week (AU$343,000 a week). Sánchez’s representatives have already held talks with City having agreed to join them last summer, only for the deal to collapse when Arsenal failed to sign Thomas Lemar as a replacement on deadline day. He remains a target for Arsène Wenger, although the Frenchman is also keen on signing Malcom from Bordeaux and held preliminary talks with his agent this week. The Brazilian forward is understood to have another firm proposal to leave this month, although not from United or Tottenham, who have both been linked with the 20-year-old in recent weeks.]]>Master Dog 🐶🐶 pic.twitter.com/76aLxxhyfY
