If you’re an NBA 2K veteran, or it’s your first time on the series this year, you’re undoubtedly looking for some beginner tips and tricks. Fortunately, in this section of our NBA 2K22 guide, we’re going to give you a few suggestions to help you master the course.
Use the right stick to defend
You may find yourself struggling to blow past opponents on the offense, both against the CPU and offline. However, the players dribble right past you when defending your basket like you weren’t there. The best way to lock opponents in NBA 2K22 is to make sure you are in a low defensive stance with the L2 trigger and then hold the right stick straight up. This will help you stop dribblers and reduce the chances of them hitting you. You have to be aggressive – position your body close to them – and keep your thumb on the right stick and hold it up. Change the color of your shooting.
By default, the new shooting knife in NBA 2K22 is much more readable than its predecessor in NBA 2K21. However, it can still be challenging to get shots in green, especially if you are sitting some distance from your TV. The best solution for this is to change your gunshot knife color to red or blue, whichever works best for you. This makes it much easier to visualize the timing as the colors clash with the default settings. To change the Gunshot Knife Color, go to Settings > Gunshot Knife Color and experiment.
