The Pakistan Super League (PSL) saw two exciting matches at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday. In what was the second game of the league, Karachi Kings beat Quetta Gladiators by 19 runs. Batting first, the Kings posted 149/9 thanks largely to Man-of-the-match Colin Ingram’s 21-ball 41. The Kings were looking at a score of 165 at one stage but the wickets fell in a heap in the last three overs to hamper their aspirations. Allrounder Shane Watson and Jofra Archer took three and two wickets respectively for the Gladiators. In their chase, the Gladiators were no match for the Kings bowlers and were restricted to 130/9 in 20 overs, with Umar Amin and Mohammad Nawaz scoring 31 and 30 respectively. Imad Wasim, Tymal Mills and Mohammad Irfan (4) took two wickets each. In the other encounter later in the day, Multan Sultans demolished Lahore Qalandars by 43 runs. After being put into bat, the Sultans scored a solid 179/5 with Kumar Sangakkara (63), Ahmed Shehzad (38) and captain Shoaib Malik (48) playing nice hands.Junaid scalped the wickets of Yasir Shah, Cameron Delport and Raza Hasan in the 17th over as Lahore collapsed like a pack of cards losing seven wickets for four runs after threatening at one stage to overhaul Multan’s total of 179. Fakhar Zaman had kept Lahore in the chase with a quickfire 49 from 30 balls which included four sixes and a four. He and Umar Akmal almost gave Multan the scare but once they departed it was all over bar the shouting. Once again it was the experienced hands of Kumar Sangakkara and Shoaib Malik that worked wonders for the Sultans. The duo had played a crucial part in their win over Peshawar Zalmi on Thursday night. And, on Friday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sangakkara came up with his second consecutive half century while Shoaib missed his by two runs. With Ahmed Shehzad contributing 38, the Sultans posted 179 for 5 which was the highest total of the four matches played so far. Later, Junaid, Mohammad Irfan, Imran Tahir and Kieron Pollard worked in tandem to rattle Lahore. On Saturday, Islamabad United will play Peshawar Zalmi in Dubai in the first match of the day; in the second Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars will take the field.]]>OUT! 16.3 Junaid Khan to Yasir Shah Watch ball by ball highlights at https://t.co/4LyeU6wIBu#HBLPSL #DilSeJaanLagaDe #LQvMS #Cricingif #PSL2018 pic.twitter.com/5c7Emke2u9
