A mother from Idaho who belonged to a doomsday cult was given a life term in jail for killing her two youngest children and planning to kill her husband’s ex-wife. In May, Lori Vallow Daybell, 50, was convicted of several counts of conspiracy and first-degree murder. Vallow killed her 16-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan and her seven-year-old son Joshua “JJ” Vallow. 2020 saw the discovery of their remains buried at her husband Chad Daybell’s house. Here is an article explaining everything about the heinous crime committed by Lori Vallow.
Introducing The Case
Tylee Ashlyn Ryan and Joshua Jaxon Vallow, two American kids from Chandler, Arizona, went missing in September 2019 and were discovered on June 9, 2020, buried in shallow graves near Rexburg, Idaho. Their bodies were discovered in the backyard of Chad Daybell, who had been their mother’s boyfriend before they passed away and had since married her.
While her younger adoptive brother J.J. was last seen alive on September 22, 2019, Tylee was last seen alive at Yellowstone National Park on September 8, 2019. The police and the family of the children were concerned about the children’s welfare and wherever they were, and questioned the children’s mother, Lori Vallow Daybell, in November 2019.
J.J. was living with family friend Melanie Gibb in Arizona, his previous home, according to Lori and her husband, Chad Guy Daybell, before moving to Idaho in early September 2019.
Gibb later refuted this assertion, though. While J.J. was being looked for, authorities also found Tylee missing.
The Unfortunate Death of The Children
On April 26, 2023, J.J. reportedly went dead, according to forensic pathologist Dr. Garth Warren. The kid was covered in duct tape and placed inside a plastic bag to suffocate and Tylee’s cause of death was “homicide by unspecified means.”
Along with one allegation of conspiracy to conduct first-degree murder, Lori Vallow Update and Chad were charged with two charges of conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration, or concealment of evidence about the murders of J.J. and Tylee.
Also, Lori was accused of plotting to kill in Arizona in connection with the shooting death of her former spouse, Charles Vallow. In 2019, Alex Cox, Lori’s brother, fatally shot Charles, claiming to have done so in self-defense. Cox passed away from natural causes after being never charged with a crime.

Marriages Of Lori Vallow
On June 26, 1973, in San Bernadino, California, Lori Norene Cox gave birth to Lori Vallow Daybell. Lori Vallow married Nelson Yanes, her high school sweetheart, for the first time in 1992 when she was just 19 years old. The East Idaho News claims that the couple separated shortly after marriage and never had children.
Lori was married to William Lagioia in 1995. The two of them had a son named Colby Ryan. However, their marriage lasted only a short time since they got divorced in 1996.
She Never Stopped!
In 2001, Lori tied the knot with Joseph Ryan, her third spouse. They had a daughter called Tylee after their 2004 divorce. After investigating Ryan’s death, investigators concluded that he had passed away in 2018 from what seemed to be a heart attack. This came after an audio recording of Lori declaring, I was going to murder him because I went through a lot of years of this kind of hard stuff, emerged. I was going to do what the text directs and murder him.
Lori adopted J.J. in 2005 after getting married to Charles Vallow, who is already the father of two kids from a previous marriage to Cheryl Wheeler. In 2019, Lori filed for divorce from Charles, claiming her religious convictions and purported threats against his life if he interfered with her purported mission.
Lori Believed That Children Were Zombies
According to rumors, Lori once told a friend that Tylee and J.J. were “zombies” and that she and Chad were working to wipe out zombies in preparation for Jesus Christ’s second advent.
Also, according to a court document in Pawlowski’s custody dispute against her ex-husband Brandon Boudreaux, Lori reportedly informed her niece Melani Boudreaux that Pawlowski’s children had been “possessed” and were “zombies.”
The document, which was filed on behalf of Brandon, further said that Lori’s assertion that Brandon had to pass away would mean that Tylee and J.J. also needed to pass away.

Lori Vallow Bad Mental Health Analysis
District Judge Steven Boyce did not specify what made her unable to or what sort of assistance Lori would require. According to news reports, defendants in Idaho must be informed of the accusations made against them even if the state does not provide the defense of insanity. After the psychiatric analysis and check-up, he ruled in May 2021 that Lori was not fit to stand trial.
Prosecutors stated that “money, power, and sex” were the case’s primary motivators at the opening remarks on April 10. Lindsey Blake, the prosecuting attorney for Fremont County, stated, “Lori used money, power, and sex, or the promise of those things, to get what she wanted.”
About Lori Vallow’s Rant In The Courtroom
In her defense, she stated, ‘Jesus knows and understands me. Like all of you, my children and Tammy are in mourning. Jesus Christ is aware of the reality of what took place here. Jesus Christ is aware that there was no murder in this instance. Fatal accidents do occur. Suicides do occur. Medication side effects can be fatal.’
Wrapping Up With Final Decision!
In a court, Idaho, courtroom on May 12, 2023, Lori Vallow Verdict states that she was found guilty of all felony counts. She was found guilty on July 31, 2023, of three murders: Tammy’s plot to commit murder, J.J.’s murder, and Tylee’s murder.
