This was a tireless battle for LaPonne that continued until the age of 20, when he made the difficult decision to relocate to Atlanta, having become acutely aware of the dangers that still loomed around him.

LaPonne later became a notable figure in the entertainment industry, having founded Foundation Unit Ent. Services LLC. During his tenure as CEO, LaPonne co-produced, managed talent, and pursued lucrative business opportunities for a prominent rap group known as Foundation. He became a beatboxer, adopting the moniker, Jam Master “Day,” and forming a group with his middle school friends, Coolcat and Mitch, drawing inspiration from Run-DMC and Jam Master “Jay” (may his spirit rest in peace). Eventually, Mario replaced Mitch, and the group continued to hone their skills.
