1. Typhoon Texas Waterpark
If you’re looking to make a big splash, head to Typhoon Texas Waterpark.
Have a blast going down thirty-three slides at this park in Katy during the summer!
One pool you have to play in is the Tidal Wave Bay. It’s a 375,000-gallon pool with waves! The pool generates waves every ten minutes, and the waves get up to 3 feet tall.
If you’re not a fan of the waves or need a break, relax in the shallow area.
There are plenty of other rides and attractions at the park, so be sure to enjoy it all!
You’ll love spending hours at a family-friendly park. After all, you can’t go wrong with a Lazy T River, yummy food, and entertainment!
2. Main Event
For fun for the entire family, be sure to check out Main Event!
This entertainment center has everything from bowling to laser tag. Two unique activities you might enjoy are virtual reality and gravity ropes.
Gravity ropes — a 20 feet high obstacle course. It has suspended balance beams, swaying rope bridges, and a high tightrope. There isn’t a net underneath the obstacles course, but don’t worry, you’re hooked up in case you fall.
And, of course, no center is complete without yummy food to eat between activities.
3. Katy Market Day
Get out and explore by going to Katy Market Day. This fun market takes place every third Saturday of the month. It’s free to get in, which makes it even more appealing!
From March to December, you can look forward to over sixty-five vendors, live music, and food trucks!
Shop for a variety of items such as antiques, original artwork, jewelry, and much more.
And, since the market is next to downtown Katy, make some time for shopping. There are many antique shops and boutiques to check out!
4. Central Green Park
Central Green Park is a beautiful public park. This public plaza space is perfect for residents and visitors in Katy to relax.
Enjoy family and community gatherings while catching up and enjoying the great outdoors.
Once in a while, the park has outdoor movies, so stay up to date by checking their schedule. The whole family is bound to have a great time while sitting on the lawn and watching one of your favorite films.
If you make it out to the park, there are other activities nearby. Venture to theaters, libraries, and do some shopping. Everything is all within walking distance!
5. LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch
For fun shopping, entertainment, and excellent restaurants, visit LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.
The ranch has an old-world charm that’s relaxing and inviting. Watch a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema or get dinner at the Fish City Grill!

6. MKT Railroad Museum
One of the most iconic landmarks in Katy is none other than the MKT railroad museum. You can find the museum in the historic Katy Depot.
This unique museum has life-sized exhibits of trains from all different eras.
In 1977, 43 charter members formed The Katy Railroad Historical Society. This non-profit organization makes it possible to appreciate the history of trains.
The Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (otherwise known as the Katy) is quite the historical experience.
The Katy also offers other activities such as group trips and photographic excursions.
Make time to get a glimpse into the past while marveling at all the different trains. It’s time well spent at the museum and Historic Katy Depot area!
7. Art Museum TX
The newly opened Art Museum TX (as of 2019) is a not-for-profit museum dedicated to contemporary art.
You’ll love this modern museum as you get to see visual arts from both the past and present.
The institution focuses on engaging with the public and offers educational programs. The programs focus on teaching about different topics about contemporary artwork.
