Importance of a Solid Schedule

Scheduling your time is important. For most of human history, we lived by the sun. We knew what time the sun rose and set. We knew what time the sunset was each night. We knew what time the sun rose each morning. The sun was our schedule. But then we invented calendars, and everything changed.

It’s easy to forget what life was like before calendars. For one thing, time was a lot less structured. We had to make do with the sun. If you wanted to know what time it was, you had to look at the sun, or listen to the chimes of a nearby church, or count how many times the water in a nearby well had been pumped, or just ask someone.

If you wanted to know what day of the week it was, you had to look at the moon. That’s why there are so many references to the moon in the Bible. It was a handy calendar in a world without calendars.

Schedules are everywhere now, and for the most part, we don’t even notice them. We’re so used to having schedules, we just take them for granted. But schedule is real. They’re not just ways of organizing time. They’re ways of organizing our days.

Time is a biggie, but it’s not the only thing we organize. We also organize our thoughts and our work. We have schedule for that, too. And they work in the same way as scheduled for time. They keep us on task. They help us stay on track. They keep us from getting lost.

Time and thought are both very powerful. We can’t understand them without understanding schedules. We can’t understand life without understanding schedules. They’re just as important as time and thought.

Productivity in the 21st Century

Today, like it or not, life is all about productivity. If you’re not productive, you’re not going to get ahead. And if you don’t get ahead, you’re not going to succeed. It’s as simple as that.

That’s why you need to understand this subject. You can’t live without it. It’s a vital skill. But it’s not something you can master in a day or a week. It takes practice. You have to keep working on it.

That’s why I’m writing this post. I want to help you learn about productivity. I want you to start practicing. I want you to keep working on it, until you get it right. And then I want you to keep working on it.

It’s not enough to read a book about this subject. You have to do something. You have to practice what you read. You have to practice scheduling your time, and scheduling your thoughts. You have to practice that every day.

That’s the only way you’ll master this subject. And then you’ll be ready to take it to the next level.
