Cornelius Crane Chase, popularly known as Chevy Chase, was born on October 8, 1943. The American comedian, actor, and writer Chevy Chase Marylandis known for several roles in Hollywood. A key cast member on the first season of “Saturday Night Live” is widely regarded today for his late-night talk show in 1993. Chase is widely known even today as one of the original cast members of SNL, NBC’s late-night comedy television show. During the first season, Chevy Chase introduced every show except “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”. Chase had always been known for his skill at physical comedy. Chevy Chase moved to Los Angeles and married Carlin. Bill Murray replaced Chevy Chase, although the latter made a few cameo appearances during the second season.

 

Chase hosted SNL eight times, but in 1997 when he was reportedly banned after hitting Cheri Oteri and harassing female writers. SNL creator and showrunner Lorne Michaels disputed reports stating how he was shocked by Chase’s behavior or had banned him as a result, claiming that everything has been “idiotic”. Chevy Chase had not returned to SNL to host since 1997 but appeared on the show’s 25th-anniversary special in 1999. Chevy Chase was interviewed for a 2005 NBC special.
