One of his turning points was fifteen years ago, when he saw a flyer at St. Mary’s church was requesting donations for the annual Westchester Christmas Dinner.
This Christmas dinner provides dinner for more than 350 homeless guests from around the country. “I impulsively volunteered to donate 40 hams and 40 turkeys and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Every year since then has been an exciting time for my family since we always participate,” Joseph Giardina says. “No matter how successful you may become, everyone – without exception – goes through times that are hard emotionally and financially. I wanted to step in and help these people have the dinner they deserved.”
That isn’t the only charity work that he participates in. “I feel immensely rewarded by being the board member of Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation,” he says. The foundation is led by founder Denise Rich, who works to help children and adults who have lymphoma, leukemia, and related cancers. “Here, we are advocating for people and their needs and it’s a great way to improve their treatment options.”
