The size of the laptop memory is not new. One more thing, though, is that many listen to advice like “more memory is always better” and come to the conclusion that whatever is used for your computer is true. The point is, such proposals are usually correct, but they are better understood only when they understand the background. All laptops use a specialized operating system – Microsoft Windows is the most popular (Windows 95, 98, May 2000, XP, Vista or 7, etc.). Software that connects and manages these two components: a) equipment and other software used in it, and b) the user (hardware).
When the operating system starts, it must load its components into memory. In fact, most of its cards are transferred to physical memory inside the notebook, memory modules on the notebook chassis. In addition, the additional software needed to run the laptop for the purposes you are using will be complete. This usually applies to any device driver and third-party software. Ideally, the operating system tries to separate most of the physical memory. If you don’t have enough memory, the operating system copies it to the notebook. In most cases, a simple internet browsing and 2 GB equivalent is enough. However, if you are a graphics / audio or visual professional, anything between 4-8 GB will be great for you. On the other hand, if you are a player, you have the ability to achieve 4 GB or more.
Answering part “B” is a bit difficult, because you have to specify the user’s manual (which is not always possible and incomplete) or the memory controller you use to determine how much memory your laptop can have. Anyway, at least I didn’t go down without explaining myself first.
