The majority of us use a crayon or an applicator stick to apply lipstick directly to our lips. We might not have even considered applying lipstick with a brush. So why use a lip brush? If you’ve lately discovered new products and this question has been bothering you, you’ve come to the perfect place!

You may be a pro at applying lipstick, but a lipstick brush elevates the experience to a whole new level. It also makes your lips appear plumper and more properly shaped. When it comes to applying eye makeup, we’ve always seen artists grab for a brush. But a lip brush might be a new concept for many of you out there, while some already know the perks of using it.

When you watch makeup videos, you may notice that some of the cosmetic professionals apply lipstick with a small thin brush.

When the lipstick is already moulded in the correct method to apply it to your lips, one could wonder why use it in the first place. Lip brushes, it turns out, are actually extremely useful.

You may also customize the tint of your lipstick by using a lip brush. Lip brushes essentially aid in colouring within the lines. It aids precision in avoiding smudges beyond the confines of your lips.

You can make a third colour by mixing the hues of your lipsticks using a lip brush. If you don’t like lip liners, you can use the lip brush to draw a line around your lips.

You can also save time by not having to search for the right shade of lip liner to match your lipstick.

A lip brush with synthetic fibres and a mid-length handle is either flat and square or slightly rounded. A plastic lid on these is the best way to keep them in good shape. Liquid lipsticks, lip pencils, and lip glosses can all be applied with lip brushes.

How to use a lip brush correctly

Just buying a lip brush isn’t enough, you need to know how to get the most out of it. A lip brush can be dipped directly into a lipstick pot or tube, or a small amount can be squeezed out on a beauty tray and applied with a lip brush.

To avoid unintended mixing, don’t share your lip brushes with anybody else and keep two different lip brushes for lighter and deeper colours.

  1. For a less harsh effect, smooth out lip liner using a lip brush. Then, when applying lipstick or lip gloss, begin in the middle of your lips and smooth outwards toward your lip line.
  2. Use the tip of the brush to define the lip lines at the bows and corners for a clean finish.
  3. Also, pay special attention to the cupid’s bow, levelling out the application in that area to make it appear wider.
  4. To highlight the area, delicately dipped a cotton bud in translucent or setting powder is a good tip. With this cotton bud, mimic the curve of your lips.

Lip brushes must be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis by gently cleaning them with warm water and soap. Make sure they’re dry as well.

Every year, just like any other makeup tool, the bristles should be replaced, especially if they grow stiff or tattered. If you’re going to keep your brushes at home, store them in a clean, dry glass jar.

It’s also a good idea to have a make-up brush set if you’re on the go because they may be put in place individually. However, you must make sure that your brushes are clean, especially if you’re going to use them on others.

Most of us consider lip brushes to be useless and avoid adding them to our makeup collection. However, you must ensure thorough coverage whenever you use a unique or aggressive colour such as scorching red, brilliant fuchsia, or even purple and black. Find the ideal lip brush for you, one that will make your lips pop!
