One of the most famous hospitals around, Bahria Town Children’s Hospital and Organ Transplant Centre, Lahore, recently conducted a successful pediatric liver transplant operation at their facility, which included a minor girl.
There was statement released by the respective hospital on Tuesday, where its been stated that the child was suffering from a life threatening liver disease since her birth, and her mother now decided to let her live with one of the pieces of her own kidney. The complete liver transplant operation was been carried out by a specialized team of doctors led by famous pediatric liver and kidney transplant surgeon Dr Khalid Sharif along with Dr Faisal Hanif, Prof Dr Huma Arshad Cheema, and the team conducted the operation which went over for a period of 10 hours. It was a team of 62 members in total, which also included the staff from medical and paramedical departments, taking care of the same operation by every sort. Malik Riaz Hussain and Ahmed Ali Riaz Malik, who proudly holds the Chairman and CEO role in Bahria town respectively, were all praises for this landmark achievement by Bahria town hospital.
Luckily, both the child patient and the mother donor have been stated as “stable’ and now been shifted Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
