Mirzapur Season 2 is finally official. It took so long (2 years) that people feared whether fans would care when it gets released. But, the hype that just a trailer has created is unreal! Although Mirzapur has such loyal fans that have craved for any update on the next season. Mirzapur Season 2 release date on Amazon Prime Video is 23rd October and fans are really excited. Season 2 trailer dropped in on October 7th. The trailer garnered more than 5 million views within 30 minutes. The popularity can be judged from these figures.
Mirzapur Season 2 Plot and Cast
MSW 2 trailer had much more than expected. So sit tight, as we are going to analyze all the foreshadowing of plot and cast from the trailer.
First things first, for the first time in Mirzapur, Munna Bhaiya and Kaleen Bhaiya seem to be going together. This suggests that Kaleen Bhaiya has understood the mindset of Munna Bhaiya and is ready to embrace his decisions. ‘If it’s me on Throne, or Munna, the rules will remain the same’, said Kaleen Bhaiya to establish his dominance. ‘And I’m adding a new rule, the one on Mirzapur’s throne can change the rules anytime’ – Munna. This comment establishes the fact that this Father-Son duo is finally getting together, and Kaleen Bhaiya is ready to inherit Mirzapur to Munna Bhaiya.
Not only the Tripathi’s have changed, but Munna Bhaiya has evolved too! In the trailer he has come at such levels of violent, that we never saw. He is seen lifting a wrecked car, and killing someone (who seemed to be Maqbool) with a hair dryer. The remorse of Sweety and Bablu’s death has broken him. He managed to bring all those broken pieces together and the new Guddu Bhaiya is lethal. Although, he still has the wound on his leg (from the gunshot from Munna Bhaiya), as he uses crutches to walk. In certain scenes, it also appears that he has made an alliance of his own, as many gunmen were with him, as shown.
All this menace hasn’t spared the all innocent Gajgamini (Golu) as well. She has had a violent turnover as well! The girl with revolutionary ideas and political understanding is now on the way to rain havoc on Mirzapur. She has become so confident that not only she wants to take revenge from the Tripathi’s, but also means to rule Mirzapur. In a conversation with her father, she is seen saying, ‘you always wanted your daughter to rule Mirzapur, if not the elder one (Sweety, who is dead), the younger one will!‘ Of course she has joined the alliance with Guddu Bhaiya, as he is teaching her how to shoot.
Remember Rati Shankar Shukla? The gang lord who was killed by Guddu and Bablu? His son, Sharad Shukla denied to be like his father and left the way of violence in Season One of Mirzapur. Now, we think that this is the most important aspect of the trailer. Sharad is shaving his head in the trailer. This suggests that he is back in business. Between the clash of Munna and Guddu, he could be third partying the riots. Clearly, all these parties want just one thing – MIRZAPUR.
Speaking of Parties – Kaleen is going political. In a short sequence, he is seen talking to a political leader. He means to back up votes and supremacy of that party, and will get liberties when the party comes to power.
Mirzapur Season 1 had been launched around 2 years ago and consisted of 9 episodes. The Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on 23 October 2020. The time of streaming is yet not confirmed.
