We are at that time of year again, the snow is starting to melt, the birds are chirping, and the sun is beginning to shine! Now it is time to think about what our big plans are for the summer!

Are you stuck on what you should plan to do? You want to do something unique with your friends, and you want to have lots of fun! Many just go on a beach vacation or to a big city, but there are more places to visit and experience!

We are going to go over some alternative activities and places to visit this summer! They all are affordable, fun, and Instagram worthy!

Listen to Live Music at a Festival

There is something about live music that all of us are drawn to. It makes us feel alive and happy. Festivals are many concerts, sometimes 20-30, for one entrance fee all in one weekend. You get to camp in a lot and enjoy the bands together.

It is the perfect thing to do in the summer because you can grill, meet people, and drink ice cold beers with friends. There are many festivals all around the country and the world you can attend. Look for one with your favorite artists, and that is close to you.

Some of the most popular ones are Coachella, Lollapalooza, or Firefly in the United States. There are other venues that are a little less expensive, but with these ones, you know you will see the hottest artist and bands!

Once you figure out which event to attend, it is time to think about what to wear! The fashion experts at Demonia state, “there are several combinations of what you could choose for your outfit. You could wear a matching set, different top, and bottoms, a bodysuit, pasties with bottoms, the possibilities are endless.”

Whichever festival you go to or what you wear, just remember it will be a weekend you’ll never forget!

Go Backpacking

People dream about the day they’ll go on a few month backpacking trips, so why not this summer! There are many places to visit around the world! Europe is on a lot of people’s list, which has so much history, impressive cities, the Mediterranean, great food, and many cultures!

If you’re looking for a more alternative backpacking experience, South America has much to offer. It is a lot cheaper, and South America has brightly colored dresses, music on every street corner, and some fantastic nature sites, like Machu Picchu and Patagonia! Between these more significant sites, there are hidden gems that are just as impressive!

There are many ways to get to Machu Picchu. It would be best if you first headed to the Incan capital, Cusco. From there you can hike or take a train. If you’re lucky, you can get a permit to the original Inca Trail that takes four days, ending in Machu Picchu.

If you are nervous about doing this solo, don’t worry! There are many companies that provide group backpacking! This will be a little more expensive than doing it on your own, but it might ease some stress by doing this!
