Do you consider your Stanley Rogers Albany cutlery set as one of your most prized possessions? Then you should do everything you can to keep every spoon, teaspoon, fork, and knife gleaming and shiny for a long time. Believe it or not, it’s really easy to take good care of your cutlery so that it may grace your dining table for years to come.

Continue reading to know how you can keep your entire cutlery set looking brand new.

Wash It by Hand

Hand washing cutlery is highly recommended. This helps fend off scratches that can easily ruin your beautiful dining essentials.

Just make sure that you refrain from washing cutlery with any surface that can cause scratches and damage to your cutlery. Warm water with mild detergent is great for cleaning your cutlery. Use a sponge instead of a scouring pad that can leave unsightly scratches.

Provide Some Room

Worry not if you don’t have the time to clean your Stanley Rogers Albany cutlery set by hand. That is because it’s perfectly safe to put it in the dishwasher.

See to it that you provide plenty of space between your cutlery items to prevent them from rubbing against one another. Nothing can mar your prized possessions more than friction! Do not overload your dishwasher to keep your cutlery out of harm’s way.

Dry Without Delay

Dry every piece using a clean lint-free cloth immediately after hand washing your cutlery or cleaning it in the dishwasher.

Just because your cutlery is stainless steel, it doesn’t mean that it is resistant to stains. Both water and detergent can leave ugly marks on the surface if not cleaned properly. Needless to say, you should refrain from allowing your cutlery to air dry. Pat them dry if need be.

Count on Chalk

Moisture and cutlery do not mix. This is why it’s a terrible idea to stash your cutlery items in a place where it can come into contact with moisture.

To prevent stains from forming while your cutlery is not in use, use white chalk as it’s great at absorbing moisture. Wrap a few pieces of white chalk in a small piece of cheesecloth. Place it where you keep your cutlery to keep the area moisture-free.

Use White Vinegar

Again, stainless steel does not mean that stains won’t appear. Do not panic if it seems like your cutlery is no longer as sparkly as before because there is a solution.

In a small basin, mix one-part white vinegar to eight parts of hot water. Allow your cutlery pieces to soak in it for 5 to 10 minutes. After that, rinse them with warm water. Don’t forget to dry your cutlery right away with a clean, lint-free cloth to fend off stains.

Give Baking Soda a Try

Other than white vinegar, you may also use baking soda. Yes, this very common baking, cleaning, and deodorizing product can help restore your cutlery’s appeal.

All that you need to do is use a small basin and fill it with hot water. Add a teaspoon of baking soda and stir. Place your cutlery in the mixture and allow it to soak for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and dry using a clean, lint-free cloth immediately.

It’s not that difficult to keep your cutlery in excellent condition. Keeping your spoons, teaspoons, forks, and knives shiny and sparkly won’t take up much of your time and energy.
