Employee Engagement

Today, billions of individuals around the world are working from their respective homes as most countries remain under lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus. WFH has been an increasing trend in recent times as it majorly allows employees to focus on their work with zero to little distractions while improving their health at home. But, according to a recent research, 20 percent of remote workers find connecting and collaborating challenging while working remotely. Also, 18% of people claimed that they feel isolated while WFH.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, every company is facing an unprecedented strain to keep its workforce engaged during this time as most employees feel stressed and anxious. Different companies are trying different measures to maintain employee engagement within the workforce. From regular facetime to purchasing HR and payroll software, HR managers are leaving no stone unturned to connect with their employees easily.

Take a look at the 4C’s that will help every HR manager to deal with the current times efficiently.

Communication

Prioritizing communication is very important while WFH. Regular communication among the workforce will help a business to take and give feedback even during this crisis time. Hence, a manager should schedule regular video calls, in addition to audio calls. But according to me, facetime is the most effective medium to stay connected with every team member. Also, an HR manager should make the most of these video calls. That means one should also enquire about the health and safety conditions of employees. This way, a manager can easily maintain a well-connected workforce with two-way communication. And such a team will positively impact the overall employee engagement while WFH. One can also rely on a comprehensive HRIS software to make the whole process a lot easier.

Caution

Have a tab on employee wellbeing by connecting regularly. Employees are facing a lot of challenges while WFH including stress and anxiety. Hence, it is the duty of every HR manager to listen to the employees and support them in every possible way. For instance- if employees feel they are not able to manage their work, then a company can provide them with an HR solution such as HR and payroll software. This way, employees will feel considered, which will further help them to be their most productive selves.

Care

It is equally vital to show care. An HR manager should provide employees with every possible opportunity to improve their wellbeing. One can offer employees to learn new upskilling online courses, initiate wellness opportunities, and allow additional leaves. Such steps increase trust and resilience within the workforce that will help them to adapt to the changing environment.

Compassion

Every employee is juggling new duties, tasks, and challenges, and at this time they wish to hear from their managers that they understand that they will get full support from their company and they will definitely get through this difficult time unitedly. Hence, HR managers should deal with this situation with flexibility and utmost compassion.

Bottom Line!!!

This time is actually an uncertain human disaster. HR managers should empathize and remind employees that things will be better soon. Consider the aforementioned 4C’s to combat this time strongly, recover faster, and grow effectively. Also, do not forget to rely on efficient HRIS software to improve employee engagement and productivity.
