Apple iPhone battery now catches fire in a store in Valencia, Spain While different tech brands are making themselves appear in news around the globe for their innovations at the ongoing CES 2018 conference, Apple is in the news for a different reason. Reported by Spanish outlet Las Provincias, an iPhone battery exploded at 1:30 PM local time today as it was being worked on.According to municipal sources, the outbreak flooded the upper floor with smoke. The firefighters did not intervene because store employees opened the windows quickly to ventilate the establishment. The workers threw dirt on the burned battery and vacated the premises without incidents.Zurich store. Now, another Apple iPhone’s battery has reportedly caught fire in a store in Valencia, Spain. As mentioned by Apple Insider, the iPhone battery caught fire while the unit was being repaired. It has not been mentioned as to which particular handset caught fire. Fortunately, the store was evacuated and no injuries have been reported. The incident took place at the 1.30PM local time. Apple made a few headlines last month as well after GeekBench, a tech device benchmarking website, reported that the company is putting a limit on the processor clock speed with each OS update, slowing it down. This was done so that the handset will use less battery power. Apple later did accept that it slowed down the iPhones to save the battery life. It even said that iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 devices are a part of this and Apple plans to continue this for future devices as well. It even launched a battery replacement programme for users around the globe. In India, Apple reduced the price of an out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacement by Rs 3,900 — from Rs 5,900 to Rs 2,000 — for anyone with whose battery needs to be replaced. The offer is available worldwide through December 2018. The iPhone devices eligible for the battery replacement programme include iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. It has also been revealed that Apple will be releasing an OS update this year that will give users more visibility into the health of their iPhone’s battery.]]>
