Chocolate pudding cake

Starting with a flavour that is super obvious and mass pleaser – chocolate. When the conversation is about cakes, chocolate flavoured ones are the best. Everybody loves them, including adults and children.

Ingredients:

  • Plain flour – 125 grams
  • Caster sugar – 165 grams
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder – 6 tbsp
  • Semi skimmed milk – 4 fl. Oz
  • Baking powder – 2 tsp
  • Salt – 1/4 tsp
  • Safflower oil – 2 tbsp
  • Light brown sugar – 6 tbsp
  • Vanilla extract – 1 1/2 tsp
  • Icing sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Shelled walnuts, chopped – 1 oz

Procedure:

Lightly butter a pie dish and dust cocoa powder inside it. In a bowl, mix the caster sugar, flour, salt, cocoa and baking powder. Add milk, oil and vanilla extract and then go on to add the dry ingredients and stir. And pour the liquid mixture in the pie dish. Bake it in a preheated oven at 190°C for 20 mins. The white powdered sugar can be drizzled on top of the baked cake once it has cooled down.

 Banana cake

Another simple and easy treat that can be served with tea of your choice or coffee preferably. In fact banana cakes are so famous that many people get them through online gift delivery in Pune services during the festive season.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup mashed banana
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. Baking powder
  • 1 tsp. Refined salt
  • 1 cup milk

Procedure:

Mash a banana and add the milk to avoid discoloration. Mix flour, baking powder and salt into the mixture. Add the sugar and egg yolk gradually and blend it well. Add flour, milk, mashed banana mix and beat it well. Pour into the baking pan and bake at 121°C.

 Coffee sponge cake

Another mouth watering cake recipe. The coffee sponge cake is a delight that you can use to entertain tea time guests, lay down as a mid meal spread, decorate it with crackers and cheese on a wine platter and many more.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. Instant coffee
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp. Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 6 eggs egg white and egg yolk separated
  • 1/2 tsp. Cream of tartar
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla

Procedure:

Dissolve the coffee powder in water and set it aside. Mix it with flour, baking powder and salt. Then proceed to add the egg white with a cream of tartar. Then add 1/2 cup of sugar. After adding all of the mixture and continue beating until the mixture is smooth. Add the coffee mixture to the batter and mix again. Pour it into a greased pan and bake at 176°C.
