How does a ball valve work?
A ball valve is a quarter-turn valve where a ball sits in the passageway of the valve, thus where it got its name. When any liquids or gases flow through the passageway, the ball has a hole where the valve opens and, then closes.
When the ball’s placement positions the hole running at the same angle as the passageway, liquids and gases can flow through it. On the contrary, when the hole is perpendicular to the passageway, liquids can’t flow through and the valve is, therefore, closed.
