As per the official website of the Algoma University, the requirements for enrollment in the course is different for candidates from different countries. The fee structure is also different for domestic and international students’. In this article, we will look at the requirements in general for international candidates.

Requirements for International Candidates

The requirement process for International students differs based on the native country of the students. We will now look at the eligibility criteria for admission to the courses offered by Algoma University for International students.

Candidate must be 10+2 or equivalent pass out as per the system of education in the native country or must comply with the standards of education required for admission to UG courses in Canada. He/she should not be having any backlogs or supplementary exam that are yet to be cleared at the time of making application cum admission to the University of Toronto.   

The minimum aggregate percentage required for admission into a particular course varies from course to course. However, a minimum of 65% aggregate is what that is applicable for all the courses. Candidate must have cleared the International English language test for non-native English speaker like ILETS, TOEFL before making an application for admission.

For admission in certain courses like engineering and medical candidates would be required to pass the entrance test by securing minimum qualifying marks (and all the other assessment process).

Related Requirements

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of 26 points

  • For consideration of candidates (Internationals) for scholarship, a score of 28 points or higher is required in IB.

  • The International candidates must have studied and passed 5-6 traditional courses in the final year of senior secondary (or equivalent) including mathematics as one of the subjects.

  • International candidates should apply for a study permit and entry visa as soon as they receive their admission letter from University.

  • If any of candidate’s (who are below 18 years) relative or a family member are a native citizen of Canada then they can act as Guardian.
