How to Minimise Puffy Eyes

For many men and women, no matter what age, it is very easy to show signs of tiredness and fatigue purely by looking at the eyes, as you get older it becomes increasingly harder to hide as bags under your eyes can become enlarged and a lot darker. Now, some may feel that there is nothing that can be done, if you’re tired then it is inevitable that you will have tired looking eyes.

But there are in fact natural ways to prevent it from occurring, and to hide it if it’s present.

Get More Sleep

Now the first, more obvious, solution is to get more beauty sleep.  As apparent as this may seem, and for some they cannot help the amount of sleep they get, if they work late and have to be up early, if you are in a position where you know you have to be up early, prepare in advance for bedtime, take off all makeup, this is essential, make sure that any eye makeup has been thoroughly removed as this affects your eyes and can cause them to appear more tired. Further still, if you simply get into bed and lie down, you can watch a programme before going to sleep, the simple act of lying down will help diminish the chances of dark circles under your eyes, as it is thought that not enough time lying down aids in dark circles. The dark circles appear due to the fact that your skin will be paler, rather than your eyes becoming darker, so keep this in mind. You want to ensure you feel refreshed each morning so get more sleep.

Eat more Vitamin K

Whether or not this will treat the solution altogether is a different matter but it is known that dark circles and puffiness under the eyes can be linked to a lack of vitamin K in your diet, as well as a lack of B12. Therefore, make sure that you are eating the right foods, plenty of fruit and vegetables, taking note of those that include the necessary vitamins. Vitamin K can be found in Broccoli, Spring Onions and Kale.  You may find that a change in your diet will have an effect and change in your appearance.

Cucumber Slices and Tea Bags

This is a common fact that placing cold tea bags, or cucumber slices under your eyes will reduce the swelling under your eyes, due to the cooling effects that each will provide and the many antioxidants that they provide which will help reduce the swelling.  These are effective and natural remedies that can help, as long as you have it all ready and prepared.

Using Creams

As long as you are taking into account the other points mentioned, then these should all help aid, and reduce the look of dark circles and puffy eyes. But there are some healthy skin care products which are designed to help completely tackle and minimise these factors without you having to completely alter your lifestyle, which for some, may be an easier solution. There are eye creams that include all the necessary vitamins such as Vitamin K which target signs of dark circles and puffy eyes, as well as having soothing effects similar to a tea bag or cucumber slice. If you use the cream on a daily basis, they will definitely have the greatest effect on your eyes in the long term.

Taking all of these facts into account should help drastically change and alter the look of your eyes diminishing any signs of dark circles or bags under the eyes.
