IPL Auctions 2018 Players List:Stokes, Starc among 36 players with top base price for IPL auction Joe Root enters for 1st time Indian Premier League 2018 auction will see more than a thousand players go under the hammer.On Friday, the IPL sent the long list of 1122 players to the eight franchises which includes 281 capped players and 838 uncapped players, including 778 Indians and three players from the Associate nations. A final auction pool would be prepared by the end of next week once the franchises submit their wishlists to the IPL. . The auction will see players from around the world including those from associate nations in hope of a contract with an IPL franchise. In the 2018 auction, 281 capped players and 838 uncapped players have registered for the auction.

Star cricketers from around the world have entered their name but the some of the most popular Indian cricketers will headline the auction. Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, R Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane are expected to fetch big amount in the auction. Other Indian cricketers who can be of big value are Kuldeep Yadav, KL Rahul and Murali Vijay. Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is also expected to emerge as a big name from the auction.As the franchises get ready for the mega two-day auction, one name at the top of their wishlist would be Stokes. The allrounder became the most expensive overseas player bought at an IPL auction when Rising Pune Supergiant paid INR 14.5 crore (USD 2.16 million approx in 2017). Stokes lived up to the hype by helping Pune to the final, which they lost to Mumbai Indians, as he earned the Player-of-the-Tournament award in his maiden IPL. Among the international cricketers, Chris Gayle and Ben Stokes lead the list. These two have enjoyed big contracts in the past season of Indian Premier League. Stokes has played only one season but was the costliest buy in 2017tokes scored 316 runs at a strike rate of 142.98 including an unbeaten century while chasing down 162 against Gujarat Lions. All-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who has been immensely successful in IPL, Carlos Brathwaite, aggressive opener Evin Lewis and Jason Holder are some of the names in the auctions. Sri Lanka and New Zealand also have players in the auctions. Lasith Malinga, captain Angelo Mathews, the exciting Niroshan Dickwella, and Thisara Perera will be the representatives of Sri Lanka. The Blackcaps have captain Kane Williamson, opener Colin Munro and Tom Latham in the auction. Apart from AB de Villiers, who was retained by RCB, Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Morne Morkel and Kagiso Rabada are some of the South Africa names in the list. The T20 league has always given the opportunity to young uncapped players and this time it will be no different. India U19 captain Prithvi Shaw, Baroda skipper Deepak Hooda, all-rounder Krunal Pandya and Basil Thampi will fill up the uncapped players’ slot.
