NTA (National Testing Agency) will be conducting JEE Main from this year instead of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). The release date of JEE Main admit card has been announced as Dec 17, 2018 (for Jan session).
For the April session, the admit card will be available on the official website from March 18, 2019 onwards. The organization has introduced certain changes in the procedure of JEE Main conduction.
Some of those changes are conducting the exam twice in a year (Jan and April), making online mode compulsory for paper 1 and paper 2 both (except for the drawing section in paper 2), aadhar card is not held mandatory anymore while filling up the application form etc.
As NTA has taken the hold of JEE Main, all the updates and announcements are made by this authority and are reflected on the official website.
JEE Main is the gateway to the most prestigious engineering institutes such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other participating institutes in various undergraduate courses such as B.Tech/BE and B.Arch/B.Plan.
For getting into IIT, one has to qualify both JEE Main and Advance as well. Except for IIT, rest institutes consider the scorecard of JEE Main for providing admission to their colleges.

Process of Downloading JEE Main Admit Card
- Visit the official website and go to the application portal.
- Candidates are then required to login using their application number, password and security pin.
- Admit card of the concerned candidate will get displayed on the screen.
- Students are advised to cross check the details mentioned details on the admit card, in case any error is found, it must be immediately reported to NTA and should be corrected.
- If all the details are correct as per candidate’s knowledge, final step is to take 2-3 printouts of the admit card for future reference (on exam day and at the time of counseling).
