7 Natural Ways To Promote Healthy and Long Eyelashes

Eyelashes shield your eyes from dust, sand, and debris. They even give your eye makeup an immediate boost, apart from serving as a defensive barrier to your skin. Different causes may also cause the lashes to fall out and become thin, such as advancing age or an underlying medical condition such as hypotrichosis. There are some science-backed home remedies that may work for you if you are trying to grow longer lashes naturally.

  1. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is used for hair care because of its penetrating effect, which helps prevent the loss of hair proteins. It can also also be used to treat thinning and damaged eyelashes and to aid their development. However, be careful when using coconut oil, as it can leave an oily film on your lashes that weighs them down.

One teaspoon of cold-pressed coconut oil and a bunch of cotton swabs are required. Cleanse the lashes with mild soap and water before applying the oil, before patting them dry. In coconut oil, dip a cotton swab and apply it to your lower and upper lash lines. Avoid having the oil in your eyes. Overnight, keep the oil on. The next morning, rinse it clean.

  1. Vitamin-E

Vitamin E is an effective antioxidant that can help minimise oxidative damage resulting in increased hair loss. It also includes tocotrienol compounds that can help to increase the number of hair strands. It can also lead to longer eyelashes.

Vitamin E may be added to your lashes. It’s also healthy to take as an oral supplement. But speak to your doctor about the right dose before taking the supplements.

  1. Green Tea

Green tea is a rich source of polyphenol called epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) that can help promote hair growth. It may also help to support the growth of your lashes.

You need 1 teaspoon of green tea leaves and 1 cup of hot water. Mix and steep the two ingredients for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain the liquid and get a warm drink.. You can also cool the tea and use a cotton swab to topically apply it to your upper and lower lash lines. Drink the tea twice a day and use it once daily.

  1. Massage

Massaging helps to improve circulation. Massaging your scalp daily, with or without oil, will increase hair length and thickness. Massaging your eyelids gently can help you achieve similar results.

  1. Lash Serum

Although lash serums sound like they’re all talking, some actually produce some pretty good results. Products such as Careprost will really make your lashes look fantastic, long and dark. When you get rid of extensions, getting back to your natural lashes can be a major change. Serums will help you get the lush natural lash you want without risking your lash health

  1. Vaseline

Vaseline can moisturise your eyelids and help you get rid of eyelash mites, preventing more damage to your eyelids. However, there are no studies on its ability to support eyelash development.

Take some Vaseline with a cotton swab and apply it to the upper and lower eyelids. Make sure you don’t get it in your eyes. Leave it overnight and the next morning rinse it off.

  1. Olive Oil

A phenolic compound called oleuropein is present in olive oil. Oleuropein was found to improve hair growth in a rat trial. Therefore, longer eyelashes can contribute to it.

You’ll need 4-5 drops of olive oil and 2-3 cotton swabs. On the cotton ball, pour a few drops of olive oil and apply it to both your upper and lower lashes. Keep the oil on for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water to rinse off.
