This city in California has so much to offer but it is important to know the pros and cons of studying in San Francisco.

Pros of studying in SF

SF is in the heart of Silicon Valley, so these universities always offer opportunities to grow and be leaders in science and technology. Cons of studying in SF

  1. It can be expensive – If you want to rent, you will find that it is quite expensive. Finding cheap rental homes can be challenging. Eating out and things like taxes are also a bit expensive compared with other cities. It is best to save as much as you can if you are considering studying in SF.
  2. Safety – there is an increase in petty crimes so be sure to keep personal belongings safe, especially if you are sightseeing or trying to get around the city. Try to carry only what is necessary when travelling.
  3. Pollution and fog – SF can get cold at times so be sure to layer up well and carry warm winter wear.In hotter months the heat creates a thick fog that covers the waterfront for months.
