Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi suspends Android Oreo update for Mi A1 smartphone Xiaomi launched its first ever Android One smartphone – Mi A1 in India last year. At the time of the launch the smartphone came with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box and the company announced that it will roll out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the device by the end of December 2017. last month, Xiaomi started rolling out beta testing for Oreo-based ROM and then finally rolled out Android Oreo update for its Mi A1. However, soon after users started updating their devices the complaints about its performance started coming in. Xiaomi Mi A1 many users started facing a problem like unresponsive camera app, unresponsive dialer app, battery drain issue, fingerprint sensor issue, unresponsive app button, unresponsive ambient light sensor and others. The company has now acknowledged the issues have also started a workaround for the problems. The company also posted about the same on its forum Mi community. xiaomi said, “We just dropped an Android Oreo update for Mi A1 a few days back. We stumbled upon an issue where users are not able to call and dialer app is getting hanged or there’s an unusual delay in making the call. Upon researching we found that MyJio application is causing ANR when a call is being made or received and hence the issue. The issue is seen when MyJio app is being present with all app permissions granted.” Along with this, the company has also suspended the update temporarily and will be rolling out a new update in coming days.Xiaomi recently launched the special edition Red colour variant of its Mi A1 smartphone in India. The device comes with a price tag of Rs 13,999 and can be purchased online from Flipkart and Mi.com and offline from Mi Home stores in the country.]]>
